Untold Stories

The University of Arizona Sonoran Center for Excellence in Disabilities’ UnTold Stories of Sexual Abuse and Violence project needs your help. This research project aims to gain a clearer understanding of the incidence, context, and impact of sexual abuse on the lives of persons with I/DD/A.

You play an important role. Your participation will help us address and prevent sexual abuse and violence against persons with I/DD/A. We understand how uncomfortable this topic is, but please know we will do our very best to ensure you feel safe and heard.  

TRAUMA INFORMED CARE & SUPPORTS TRAINING

TRAINING #1: Trauma Informed Care for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD)

This training examines the sources of trauma, psychological trauma, trauma responses, symptoms of PTSD and provides resources for staff, caregivers and family members.

TRAINING #2: Trauma Informed Care for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD)

This training explores positive identity development, recovery and healing, elements of EMDR and helpful resources. Therapeutic treatment approaches and case studies will be discussed.
