Interdisciplinary Approach to Disability in Professional Practice Intern
Hi there, everyone! My name is Bella Ortega, and I am a senior at the U of A studying Public Health with an emphasis in Health Promotion. After graduation, I would like to pursue becoming a Radiologic Technician and cross-train into other modalities such as CT or MRI. In addition, I am open to Healthcare Administration roles as I value the clinical side of healthcare just as much as the public health side, and I'm committed to bridging both to improve patient outcomes and community well-being. I am a new trainee and look forward to starting my internship here at the Sonoran Center for Excellence in Disabilities! One fun fact about myself is that I have a huge passion for cooking and food. Whether that's finding different recipes to try or going out to a new restaurant with friends and family, I love it all. Furthermore, I was drawn to this opportunity to join the disability training program because I want to adopt inclusive practices, strategies, and approaches that I can translate into my future career so that every patient I encounter receives equitable care. Finally, one thing I hope to get out of this experience is to advance my skills in collaboration and communication when it comes to interacting with PWD.
