March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month: Life Side by Side

National News
Spring 2017

The national developmental disabilities network – National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities (NACDD), the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) and the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) – are proud to present Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month 2017 (DDAM)!  The goal for the month is to raise awareness about developmental disabilities, tell stories of people who live with a disability, and show their lives while highlighting inclusion, contributions and togetherness.

The DDAM website provides resources to help plan activities for the month, as well as for you to share across social media including images like the one below.

Check out the resource guide on the website for resources to share related to the weekly themes. The guide will be continuously updated as new resources are received.

Week 1 (March 6th): Learning Side by Side – Education

Week 2 (March 13th): Working Side by Side – Employment

Week 3 (March 20th): Communities Side by Side – Community Living

Week 4 (March 27th): Life Side by Side – Miscellaneous
