Message from the Director

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The last six weeks have been a whirlwind as I embarked on my new role as director of the Sonoran UCEDD and member of the Tucson community. I am honored to join such a talented group of colleagues who are knowledgeable, passionate, and committed to our mission and a true delight to work with. I appreciate the warm welcome from everyone I have met and the opportunity to connect with and learn from individuals with disabilities, family members, direct service staff, and agency personnel around the state. My vision is to expand on the tremendous accomplishments of the previous director, Leslie Cohen, and collaborate with our stakeholders to build capacity and promote practices that enhance the lives and full inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of their communities. As we begin a new year, I am excited about the abundance of possibilities and look forward to working together with all of you as we explore new avenues, respond to emerging issues, and turn creative ideas into reality.

Truly,

Wendy Parent-Johnson, Ph.D., CRC, CESP
Professor and Executive Director
