Career Pathways to Arizona's Future

The UArizona Sonoran Center for Excellence in Disabilities established the Career Pathway's to Arizona's Future program to help young people make informed decisions about their future and explore their potential for achieving gainful, competitive employment.

The program was funded through a contract with the Arizona Department of Economic Security.

YOUTH (Between the ages of 14 and 22)

Are you in public high school, a private school or higher education?
Are you planning to work or continue your education, but uncertain about what path to take?
Are you a youth in foster care or a member of a tribal community?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then you know the pressure of preparing and planning your future. We would like to help young people like you make informed decisions about your future. By partnering with us, you can learn how to be a self-advocate and lead a life of independence.

In 2014, changes were made to the Rehabilitation Act. These changes mean Vocational Rehabilitation is required to address pre-employment services for students between ages 14 and 22.

These changes address specific pre-employment transition services for students so that they are prepared to transition into adulthood with a better opportunity to be successful. Your school may already be collaborating with an agency.

We are happy to join your team, connect you with agencies providing specific services or assist you with developing and implementing pre-employment transition activities and services.

We have partnered with Arizona@Work/Vocational Rehabilitation to connect employers interested in supporting youth with disabilities.

With no liability on your behalf, we train youth the workplace skills through community based learning. Our team, alongside school staff, will work with students at your workplace to complete and practice needed work activities that we determine together.

There are no hiring requirements. We are recruiting employers who can provide youth and young adults short-term work experiences.
