DDNN Summer 2014

The Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council provided a grant to the Arizona Center for Disability Law (ACDL) to conduct Emergency Preparedness trainings to individuals with Developmental Disabilities and other interested individuals in Northern Arizona.  The trainings were conducted by staff of the ACDL and the Native American Disability Law Center.  They were designed specifically for an audience of individuals with Development Disabilities and provided information on both sheltering at home during an emergency and evacuating to a public shelter.   The trainings were conducted on the Navajo Nation, in Flagstaff, Kingman, Lake Havasu City and Cottonwood. The trainings were attended by more than 100 people.  The trainings were very interactive and the attendees appreciated learning how to stay safe at home or at a public shelter during an emergency.
