AZ Partners in Leadership Accepting Applications Through November 30th

DDNN Fall 2015
Arizona Developmental Disabilities Council

Pilot Parents of Southern AZ logoThe AZ Partners in Leadership (previously known as Partners in Policymaking) program offered by Pilot Parents of Southern Arizona (PPSA) is currently accepting applications for the 2016 cohort.  AZ Partners in Leadership is an innovative leadership training program that teaches people to be community leaders, and to affect systems and policy change at the local, state, and national levels. The program is designed for individuals who have a disability and for parents raising children with a disability. Partners graduates gain the abilities to teach policymakers a new way of thinking about people with disabilities.

AZ Partners in Leadership has funding from the AZ Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and the DD Planning Council, and they are looking to increase two important objectives:

  1. Recruit participants from rural Arizona (counties outside of Maricopa and Pima) and
  2. for adult self-advocates to participate.

PPSA has extended the application deadline to November 30th as they are hoping to increase the diversity of participants.  The program is FREE to those that are selected to participate (food, accommodations and training materials are covered by grant funding) and each weekend training is offered in Phoenix.
